Delicioso!

Oh, I knew it would be good. I just never imagined how good the food in Mexico City would be. From dinner at Pujol with top chef Enrique Olvera to the famed El Bajio for breakfast, then on through the market and Sunday comida at Casa Merlos, I can't believe that after only two days in the city I've already eaten so many delicious treats.

While I was less enthused about the brain for breakfast, the grasshoppers (okay, I couldn't make myself eat one) and the corn fungus, I agree that Mexico City's food is fantastic. In retrospect, even the corn fungas - which they told me was corn truffles - was good. Thanks for bringing back the memories... except of that grasshopper. Ick.

So I gotta ask, what did it taste like?

And how do our Mexican restaurants in Toronto compare?

Absolutely delicious and not scary at all. I ate a whole plate of them, unprovoked. They've got an airy crunch with a pleasing lime, chili and salt kick.
As for the Mexican restaurants in Toronto, I'd have to say the only one that comes to mind that comes close, is Milagro.
